Barr Family Grants 2025/2026 Season
The Barr family is happy to announce the “Barr Family Grants” toFIRST in Alabama teams in their first, second and third year of operation. These grants are to promote small teams and promotes woman in engineering.
Grant application dates
August 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026Grants are First come First Serve and are limited by available grants per group.Application will be reviewed and if approved funds released within 20 day of acceptance.
Grant Requirements
• Team must register with FIRST and provide a team number prior to applying for a grant.
• The team must be registered with FIRST for the current year’s competition season. • Team must be associated with a school or community bases group to send grant payment to. Payment can not be made to an individual person. • FIRST in Alabama Teams only
- FIRST LEGO League Challenge
- FIRST Tech Challenge • Team Size: 4 or more members • 25% girls on the team • Team must explain actively recurring new girls on the team. • Teams recieving a grant will be list on the WorkBots.info WEB Site. We would also like to highlight teams team receiving grant if they provide a Team Photo and a short description of teams accomplishment during the season. • Funds can be used for registration fees, parts, supplies, tools, transportation and taxes of the FLL and FTC team and robot. • Both team's Lead Coach 1 and Lead Coach 2 are both successfully screened • Teams can only apply once per season. Teams with multiple team numbers can only apply for one grant. Team can't share seperate resources.
Available Grants
• (5) First Year FLL of $500.00 • (3) Year 2 or Year 3 FLL of $250.00 • (5) First Year FTC of $1500.00 • (3) Year 2 or Year 3 FTC of $1000.00
Grant Payment
• Grant payment sent by standard mail within 20 days of grant approval. • Teams will be notified by Email of grant approval.
